Ephesians 1:14

"who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of gods own possession, to the praise of His glory"

The Holy Spirit is given to us as a pledge

  • A pledge given was a physical token of a promise to be kept until the promise is fulfilled
    • The promise is our redemption in Christ
    • Also the promise of His return
    • The pledge is the Holy Spirit to fill us and guide us until either Christ comes or we are called to Heaven

We are God’s possession

      • He has promised to redeem us
      • We belong only to Him

We are the praise of His glory

  • When we live by the Spirit and walk by faith

Welcome

Welcome to daily bread. I have started this blog as a way to get deeper into scripture, one verse at a time. I will be taking one book at a time one verse at a time from start to finish and recording the reflections the Holy Spirit places on my heart as I read it. I realize that taking one verse at a time out of context can be a dangerous thing so please be aware that this is not my intent or purpose; I am simply trying to spend my time in the word meditating on what it says one verse at a time and would like to share my thoughts with you.
